The folks at Google inc. are always developing tools to make our online marketing even easier. If you are prepared to take the time learning Google tools rock!! The problem is we don’t all have the time. For me, I do it out of passion—I love the new tools Google rolls out. I am self employed and make it a priority to figure things out. With applications like Google Analytics, Website Optimizer and Google AdWords they are not programs you can’t just sit down for an hour and learn. Each one of these Google products requires intense studying followed by a Google Test that you must pass to be qualified. When you pass these tests you are awarded with a Google Badge. Depending on the qualification it is the company you work for or you (personally) that the accreditation is attributed to. For example a GAAC (Google Analytics Authorized Company) is a badge awarded only to a company while GAIQ (Google Analytics Individual Qualification) is a badge awarded to an individual. They are both meaningful badges but GAAC is definitely the trump card.

There is no list of GAIQs and many of these people are incredibly talented. I am certainly not putting down the GAAC, from experience I know it is very difficult to become one. What I am saying is the public side of the internet should have the ability to know (freedom of choice) who is out there that can help them. I am not suggesting that a GAIQ is at the skill level of a GAAC but my question is, can the GAIQ perform the majority of tasks needed to satisfy business?
Follow the Process
If you do not have a process in your business you are almost certainly doomed. The most successful businesses adhere to a process. Day in and day out cars are pushed off the assembly line with almost 100% accuracy because they follow the process. The house you live in was built following a process and blueprint. The installation of Google Analytics is accurately implemented following a process for every site. For safe measures at the end of the process it is tested and stamped with approval or sent back for rework.
Good News for GAIQs?
Let me tell you a bit about me, I actually attained both badges. Unfortunately I am no longer with the GAAC (Google Analytics Authorized Company). So all I have now is GAIQ and the GAAC knowledge. I was thinking…what if we built a network of GAIQs only? Something as simple as a blog post, a picture of your certificate and a statement to begin with.
Example
Robert Kennedy- Brampton, ON CA
“Robert Kennedy is Google Analytics Qualified and has passed the Google IQ test.”

Robert has been in both online and offline marketing for 25 years. His experience in business, direct mail, printing, marketing and advertising helps business people quickly understand what immediate steps are needed to increase visibility.

The GAIQ Network
As you can see people are looking for some kind of recognition from Google. I see the individual qualification worth mentioning to employers, prospects or anyone else that needs something tangible behind your claim of expertise. So I asked the question to Google, “What are we allowed to tell people since we don’t get a badge?” The answer is “you can show the certificate, say that you are qualified in Google Analytics and have passed the IQ test”
It seems the growing community of GAIQs is looking for some kind of acknowledgement from Google that we have passed this test. I have read countless requests from people that have passed; looking for notoriety. It is my conclusion that we will never see one. In the meantime we have passed the test, paid our $50 (same as adwords) and want to use it to our advantage. Let’s do it! I mean start by posting it here, also feel free to feedback or submit a blog post. I am looking for some key people to get involved with this project for GAIQs.
