Making a Logo that Includes Embossing

Today I had a little too much time on my hands and started experimenting with some unique logo design concepts. I start by surfing the internet for unique logo effects, logo ideas and embossed printing. I Found a blog that looks like its just getting started but it got me thinking about taking line art elements of a logo and embossing them in conjunction with lithography. If you think about the possibilities its endless. So with my time today I started to play with a natural, clean edged logotype placed on a custom premium paper “stack aspire-Silver-oreâ€.

In this video there are 5 main engraving effects used on the logo:

Embossing- raised embossing on a paper surface.

Embossing and Ink- Engraved paper in position (registration) with ink colors.

Debossing- Paper surface is recessed or depressed

Debossing and Ink- Recessed or depressed paper surface in position (registration) with ink colors.

I start by selecting the natural color scheme that will best suit my tastes. I like emerald canary green for the lettering and will use a secondary earth tone color. When you emboss your project you can use many different die profiles to create the desired effect. I have had some experience in print and lithography before so the effects that I am going to create can be attained with a standard die (magnesium) which is the least expensive. If your project is ongoing I would recommend upgrading to a brass die for a better impression and greater life from your die.

But just take a close look at the simplicity and elegance that you could set in the tone of stationery, posters, brochures…pretty well any printed project that you want to ensure gets a second look. Remember you are now dealing with a look and feel. Some of the techniques you can incorporate into your logo design include Multi Level Foil, embossing, blind embossing with standard Color or PMS color. Heck, you could even throw spot varnish into the mix. Indeed your mind can wander but you also may want to keep costs and ability to reproduce within other applications in mind. When I make a logo that would include embossing effects the idea is to keep it as frugal as possible without taking away from my desired finished look.

The ability to convert images from plan drawings, maps and other wide format documents to CAD format by means of a process is called vectorization. Generally, the logo designed for the business purpose is usually a low-resolution .JPG or .GIF file, that cant be used in traditional printing services. Vectorization is the most effective solution for digitizing vector data from image sources. A vector image is an image created by numerical coordinates that are contained within the file. Vector images can be resized with virtually no loss of resolution and are much smaller files than bitmap files. Vector conversions are traced by hand and no automated process is used to do so. A vector based drawing program is used for tracing the outlines of each shape. This vectorization process ensures that your logo/image is the highest quality. The final files are in either of these formats .ai or .eps, and .pdf formats.

Some of the many advantages of vector conversion include:

1. Size: without any loss in quality, the image can be scaled up or down.
2. Modification: A change file can be maintained and upgraded or modified.
3. Resolution: with no loss in detail, a vectorized image has no jaggedness.
4. Other applications: it can be stored and can be used for other applications.
5. Color: Vector images also allow you to change color and edit individual elements with ease.
Vector conversions enable you to convert technical drawings, maps logos and any other graphics from raster to vector formats, for easy archiving and instant access. Raster to vector (R2V) procedure can be used to process charts, drawings, maps, schemes and other similar images.

Applications areas of vectorization include:

1. Technical Drawings (AEC)
2. House plans, floor plans, garage plans
3. GIS and mapping
4. Blueprints
5. Logos
6. Vectorization for website applications
7. Vectorization for Graphic Design purposes
8. Maps and charts
9. 2D and 3D

Nature gives a natural balance for almost every living need; nature is willing to supply the needs. She has a natural way of sorting it all out at the end of the day.
These natural concepts can also be applied to your thought process around making a unique company image.

Here are a few natural entities that are present on planet earth

Spiritual

A religion of everything existing between Heaven and Earth is quite spiritual but scientifically impossible. In spite of this we expend huge amounts of energy in the church of beliefs practicing religious values. What would it be like if you could feel happy and have energy you always wanted by simply believing in yourself. When some good happens thanks yourself, then thank god if you wish. If you always thank god then who is to blame when you lose a loved one? Not god, not yourself but rather a divine act of nature.

Plants

Once the plant starts to actually grow and taken root it is sure to blossom. The human race is so intelligent and sophisticated, that we want need scientific proof before we will even consider the possibilities of plant matter. Many of us strive for the time when we will grow our own fruit. We are lucky on this continent the Japanese varieties are more difficult to grow. What is the secret to healthier and more beautiful plants? Lets think about healthy soil first. This is where the plant will feed and attach its lifelines to. Living
Soil is a versatile resource, a living ecosystem requiring a balance of organic, inorganic, living and nonliving components to work. Photosynthesis is the system that plants and some bacteria employ to change energy from sunlight into glucose, then cellular respiration changes it into ATP or adenosine triphosphate.

Artificial

When we think of natural substances we don’t think of synthetic or man-made. Our world is so crammed packed full of man made and synthetic products that we lose sight of the resource of Mother Nature. Think about how much it would cost to engineer an artificial island with all nature provides like forests, mountains, rivers, and large bodies of water.

The human psyche should be proud to generate artificial and synthetic products. But when we start to clone life it self we are really playing god. Others in the scientific community may candy coat it in an attempt to deflect the truth. The simple fact is that is not natural and we shouldn’t be messing with Mother Nature.

Organic
Many folks are active in composting. Compost is composed of healthy organic matter, which is important in growing healthy and happy plantation. For all you plant buffs technically, soil should be composed of fifty percent solids and twenty five percent each of liquid and air, plus an organic matter content of 3 to 5 percent

Many professional gardeners struggle with the question – what is the correct use of organic and chemical materials for highest health and yield? Many organic substances that are made with the highest integrity and careful attention to detail still fail to answer this call. Once thing for sure is you can continue to add organic matter to the soil for as long as you want a healthy garden.

Now, we want to take the elements above and apply them to our corporate design. There are a few examples of exactly that shown on the right hand side of this page. ENJOY

To stand out from the crowd and be seen as unique and special, begin with your future ability to increase business while Building Your Brand. You know how important marketing is to the business you should always try to add branding to all marketing. You could be holding your business back from attaining its true potential. Begin to brand your company and see how your sales skyrocket

Company Name and Logo Relationship

You understand the company name and logo and you choose reflects products based on viewers familiarity. Moreover, let me make some suggestions for a new business trying to build a brand, around a company name, and a logo. Your site, company name, logo, slogan, email address and everything you create afterwards, should be targeted directly at your audience… Brand loyalty is critical part of evolving a brand, because consumers usually have a choice of products in the same market, great brands paint a memory hook picture for the consumer.

Advertising Should Pay not Cost

Automotive companies spend millions each year on terrible advertising campaigns. This inability to implement is the fault of brand management than creative advertising. The advertising relies on a general campaign focus of Keep on track thinking without knowing what smart really is to the target audience.

As a beginner, you would not be at fault for thinking that marketing is advertising your service product; this is far from the truth! While conditioned over time we tend to accept the advertising campaign as reality, even if its not the truth. If youre thinking about a huge advertising game plan, get a copywriter to make catchy mission statement that you can use throughout all potential markets.

Strategy and Careful Planning = Success

Think out of the box and begin a strategy that concentrates on branding solely. Whats the finest branding strategy for your unique business? Although many strategies can be successfully utilized by companies offering very different products and services, time and time again simple framework (KeepItSimple) strategy wins, your product or service market are being served and developed. I suggest you put this strategy into play now. A branding strategy is the key of all customer contact and perception. Additionally, a powerful branding strategy needs interaction from a CEO and all upper management staff. There are several keys to developing a winning brand for your company:

Show Brand Futures

Interword separation

Effective branding tag line

Branding is part of winning strategy for building awarenenss.

Use-mention distinction

An effective corporate Internet branding strategy must always be considered in the master plan if you are putting the effort in the time to make a great brand for your company, lets do it once and correctly. Simply put, strategy is not what we do, but the way you do it.

Your Business Blog

Name your blog –use relevant keywords add personality and your ready to blog.

Business blogs are anything you want them to be. You can add AdSense and it may change your business strategy. Some high traffic bloggers are reporting income in triple monthly digits! Business blogs…Think about getting someone to write a business blog if its not you. If your blog is on questionable subject matter, you shouldnt include it on your business email signature. Many of small business owners have set up a blog to communicate with clients and prospects. A blog can be used as a very powerful communication tool in business

Think of your business blog as a business diary.
