How to Create a Static Page in WordPress

Getting your our static page live takes a few minutes. If you just want a static html page, prepare your content first just like my WordPress tutorial on creating your first post. There are a number of ways to accomplish static page creation. One way is to simply create your own homepage and FTP it to your server. Anywhere on your blog where there is a link to home will link to that page. E.g. www.yourdomain.com/bloghomepage.html. You could also just create a static page in your WordPress interface and make it your homepage. There are also plugins that allow you to make different themes for different categories which can add a new spin on what you are trying to accomplish with a homepage.

Then login to WordPress and navigate to “pages” in the navigation bar. Click “Add New”

Add a title, paste your content, make a nice custom URL, and insert SEO for WordPress. If you don’t have the All-in-one SEO Plugin—GET IT!!
